Empire Outlets Art Fair / May 17, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Bring your love of art and support for local artists to the Empire Outlets Art Fair. Queer and ally artists will display and sell their amazing works at the event, presented by the Pride Center of Staten Island. There will be a live DJ and “Grab & Go” bags provided by Shake Shack, while supplies last.

SATURDAY

Stapleton Houses Garden – Extension, beautification and lunch / May 18, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Join Health for Youths for a collaborative gardening event at Stapleton Houses Garden, where residents and volunteers will come together to increase the harvest by building additional raised beds. This initiative aims to promote the garden and encourage community engagement. In addition to practical gardening activities, a healthy lunch will be served in the garden. This is an opportunity for the community to come together, learn about gardening and get involved in creating a greener, healthier environment for everyone.

Trade it like it’s a hot evening at a thrift store/ May 18, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Join NYC Arts Cypher for a unique opportunity to shop for free at the Swap Party! Embrace the principles of reuse, reduce and recycle in fashion. Bring your gently used or new items and exchange them with other participants. You can bring unlimited items and take home new clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry and more. All unclaimed items will be donated to the community.

Entrance cost: Free / Donations of $5 to $10 appreciated

Day hike with dog / May 18, 11 a.m. to noon

Wander through the forest with your four-legged friend on this dog-friendly hike. Dogs must be kept on a leash. Dog lovers without dogs are also welcome to participate.

Joe D’Urso and Stone Caravan / May 19, 3 p.m.

Join the community at Hamilton Park House Concerts in New Brighton for an evening featuring Joe D’Urso and Stone Caravan. If the weather is favorable, the concert will take place outdoors. Enjoy an event that promises great music from New York-based rock band Roots and good company.
