Man dies following suspected hit-and-run in Donegal

A man who was seriously injured in a suspected hit-and-run in Donegal at the weekend has died.

The man, a pedestrian in his 60s, was struck by a vehicle on Main Street Clonmany at around 12.15am last Sunday morning.

He was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital and then transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he died last night.

An autopsy should be performed.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, was arrested following the incident and appeared in court on Monday.

Gardai say the investigation is now a fatal road collision investigation and inquiries are continuing.
