Sources reveal details of $1.25 billion Jacksonville stadium deal to Action News Jax’s Ben Becker

Sources give Action News Jax’s Ben Becker some details on Jacksonville’s proposed $1.25 billion stadium deal.

Here are some details:

  • $625 million each will be contributed by the city of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Funding has yet to be determined. $150 million will be dedicated to the city’s workforce and earmarked for the Eastside, and the Jaguars will match that figure.

  • One home game per year will remain in London with the option of playing two home games away from Jacksonville in one season every four years. NFL rules require each team to play an international game every four years. The current rule is once every eight years, but this will increase to every four years in 2025.

  • It’s unclear exactly where the Jaguars would play during the stadium renovations, although Gainesville is likely the landing spot if the team plays home games in Jacksonville.
