Things are heating up for Joey McIntyre.

On Monday, the New Kids on the Block artist announced on social media that he would be a guest star on this week’s episode of The Chicago Fire. McIntyre will play Lorenzo, a member of a rival fire station.

Descriptions for Wednesday’s episode, “Under Pressure,” reveal that Lorenzo will face Tony (Tony Ferraris) and Capp (Randy Flagler) as they compete to break a world record.

Photos of McIntyre show him dressed in various firefighter gear (but not a full uniform!), as well as surrounded by other cast members, including Taylor Kinney, Ferraris and Flager.

Another member of McIntyre’s NKOTB, Donnie Wahlberg, commented, “Let’s go” with a fire emoji on McIntyre’s post.

Wahlberg can’t wait to see McIntyre on television. In March, Wahlberg told Andy Cohen that one of his dreams was to see McIntyre on his CBS show. Blue bloodpotentially as a love interest for her character Danny Reagan’s partner.

“Look, I tried,” Wahlberg said of the lack of NKOTB members on the show. “It’s a no-brainer for Joey to do it, and I’m sure he’d be up for it if there was a good role, but it’s just not the right thing.”

He explained that he told his producer to Blue blood This is a bucket list wish for him.

“I said, ‘Get damn Joey on the show, because you told me you were going to put him on the show ten years ago and we’re still waiting.’ So we’ll see. (Maybe he could be) a love interest for my partner, and I get jealous or whatever.”

For his part, McIntyre just clarified that he doesn’t want Wahlberg to arrest him on air if he appears.

“I don’t know,” McIntyre added. “If he has to take my face and put it against a car window or something… Do you know what I mean? We have to have gentle boundaries around the role.”

Maybe Lorenzo could take a trip to New York.
